Apple, Pear, and Lemon Ice Ring

Adding fruit to the ice ring is a fantastic way to spruce things up. And that's not all because this ice ring has a sweet and spicy secret weapon. Ya' see, unlike most ice rings that use plain ole' water this one is made with sugar and spice infused H2O. Why? Well, typically when the ice melts inside of the punch bowl it waters down the punch. Not so with this ice ring.

So, why not make an ice ring made with sugar water, sparkling water, or a clear carbonated beverage, like cream soda? You can also add spices like cinnamon, persimmon, or a pinch of ground cloves, etc. Sprigs of fresh herbs add undercurrents of fresh flavors too, but also visually add great texture. Therefore, as this ice ring melts, instead of watering the down the punch bowl with sadness, it adds a bit of bright sweetness and will make the world a much better place for everyone.
