TUNA SALAD WITH PECANS AND RAISINS
The ingredients for this tuna salad are simple ingredients. You’ll need some chopped red onion, celery and pecans. I have to give my husband thumbs up for his chopping skills. For the mayo, you can use regular mayo, or the light one if you’re watching your intake of calories.
Of course, let’s not forget the main ingredient, the tuna. Basically once all your ingredients are chopped you just mix everything together. My husband served this on some amazing asiago cheese bread, but I’d imagine it would great with any bread, especially some pumpernickel bread. For your sandwiches you can also add some extras, like lettuce and tomatoes. Personally, the tomatoes are a must for me.
Ingredients :
- 2 cans of tuna
- 1/2 cup red onion chopped
- 1/3 cup celery chopped
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 1/2 tbsp dry dill or 2 tbsp fresh dill
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 tbsp parsley chopped
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 to matoes sliced for garnish
- lettuce leaves for garnish
- 4 buns
Instructions :
- Chop the onions, parsley, pecans, and celery. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients, with the exception of the bread, tomatoes and lettuce. Mix everything together
- To serve, lay a couple lettuce leaves on a slice of bread, add a couple scoops of tuna salad on top of the lettuce, add a couple slices of tomatoes and top with another slice of bread.
